Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains

These new kissable balm stains from Revlon are described as "a pampering balm fused with a lightweight lipstain in an adorable chubby crayon." It is a gel formula that's moisturizing that leaves a tint on your lips even after the balm fades away.

I was intrigued by this product because of how these reminded me of the Tarte LipSurgence lip tints and the Clinique chubby sticks, but at a quarter of the price! So of course I grabbed four out of the twelve shades they had. I am not quite sure if these are going to be permanent (I'm assuming they will be since the Just Bitten lipstains are).

L-R: Darling, Cherish, Lovesick, Rendezvous

Darling is a lilac shade. It is very cool-toned. When I first looked at the packaging, I immediately thought of MAC's Up the Amp lipstick, but it applied more pink than purple. It was actually VERY SIMILAR to Cherish on my lips and I was pretty bummed about that. I wish I picked up a red instead to create a variety in the ones I picked up. Anyways, you definitely do not need both Darling and Cherish if you decide to pick up any of these shades.

Cherish is a cool-toned pink. Revlon Cupcake Lip Butter is the lip butter version of this color.

Lovesick is a hot magenta shade with a hint of shimmer. Revlon Lollipop Lip Butter is an exact dupe of this color. Other dupes that I can think of is MAC Girl About Town.

Rendezvous is probably my favorite out of the ones I picked because I don't have anything like it. It is a warm orange and it looks brownish orange on my lips when applied. I can definitely wear this every day without it standing out so much.

Top-Bottom: Darling, Cherish, Lovesick, Rendezvous

The formula of these is pretty good. I can get probably a couple of hours of wear on this since the balm fades away pretty fast, but the color stays on all day until you take it off. I actually had to use a lip scrub to take off the color completely, so you know that it does stain your lips. You can keep reapplying this product without it building up and caking up like how lipsticks normally would look like after a few hours. They do transfer, however, so I don't know where the "kissable" part came from in the name because I definitely can't kiss someone with this on my lips. All of the balm stains have a minty scent that doesn't seem too overpowering, in my opinion. The peppermint oil in this formula is actually soothing and feel nice on the lips.

In terms of packaging, I think they are just adorable! They're like chubby mechanical crayons that retract up and down, so I don't have to sharpen them. I think I might pick up a red shade of this for summer! I love lip products that are effortless when I have to reapply them.

These retail at participating drugstores for $8.99, but I got two at RiteAid for Buy One Get One 50% off, so I ended up paying about $6.75 each, and the other two from Bed Bath and Beyond for $6.79 each! Now this collection is definitely not for those who look for neutral shades. The only neutral shade I found was Charm and Precious, and I heard those don't even do anything for your lips because it is so sheer! This collection is more summer friendly, especially to you trendy ladies who love to rock color on your makeup routine.

  1. Love them but yes some of them are very similar in color. I was disappointed that the red on me looked not so red but very orange. Can't wait to finish my blog on them
But definitely love the texture and packaging! Just more colors please!!!

    1. I wanted to get the red, but since now you mentioned it not being true to color on the lips, i might grab another color then.
