Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow Fall 2012 Collection

Ever since I saw this hype on Instagram and on Youtube, I immediately hit this drugstore near my work to see these for myself. When these first came out, I fell completely in love with the pigmentation and performance and the price that I bought all ten shadows! Now these are fall shades, so they are more wearable for every day use and great to pop on the eyes when you're in a hurry.

Display at the drugstore

Maybelline came out with four new limited edition shades for fall: Barely Beige, Mossy Green, Gold Shimmer and Rich Mahogany.

Let me just start off with the formula. Just by swirling my fingers onto the product, it immediately warms up and is easily blendable on the lids. They are called to be the drugstore alternative to MAC Paint Pots, and honestly, I think these are better (and cheaper, too!). I have ridiculously oily lids and these shadows can stay on its own without setting it with a powder product. With MAC Paint Pots, on the other hand, I definitely see it separating where my lids crease and where the oils build up. I have to set paint pots with a powder.

Pigmentation is amazing as well! They apply so opaque with just one layer on and it can get even more intense and stunning when packed on. And can I just say I love how sturdy the packaging is for the price I paid? They come in glass jars, which are very easy for storage and keep the product intact to last a long time. I must say, they are worth more than what I paid for!

Barely Beige is a very frosty more opaque light beigey champagne color. It reminds me of Loreal Infallible eyeshadow in Iced LatteMAC Naked Lunch is also similar, but less pink. This is a great lid, highlight and inner tear duct color.

Mossy Green is a beautiful forest green shade that I just adore for fall! This can be great for smokey eyes and great for an all over lid color! I would definitely just pop these on my lids, add a tiny definition on my crease and call it a day.

Gold Shimmer is a warmer golden brown shade and is probably my favorite out of the four because this is 100x better than the Bold Gold shadow from the permanent collection. This is like Urban Decay Smog in cream form.

Rich Mahogany is a cooler brownish taupe shade with a hint of a coppery sheen to it. Probably a cooler version of Urban Decay Darkhorse. It's really interesting how there are coppery flakes into it but it looks very cool-toned when swatched and applied to the lids.

100 Barely Beige

200 Mossy Green

300 Gold Shimmer

400 Rich Mahogany

Swatches of 100, 200, 300, 400

These retail for $6.49 at Rite Aid and may vary from $5-8 depending on where you go and where there are coupons and discounts at your local drugstore. Stay tuned for a makeup look that I am dying to do with all four shadows!
